No Taste For E-Waste

Environmental Impact

The mass production of electronics has created a massive growth in electronic waste, and the result; detrimental and harmful impacts on the environment. For instance, the average desktop computer and monitor requires a minimum of 1.5 tonnes of water, over 20 kilograms of chemicals and more than 240 kilograms of fossil fuels to produce.

To make matters worse,  e-waste is commonly disregarded, particularly when compared to plastic or paper recycling, as electronic waste comprimes approximately 4% of total landfill. However, this creates a common misconception wherein that 4% of waste creates 40% of lead material in landfill, and produces almost 70% of pollution.
